Peter specialises in the development of creative economies in developing & challenged regions – internationally in Small Island Developing States & in the UK – in areas of economic and social depression. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network and the United Nations Expert Group on Creative Economies.

He is an award-winning creative entrepreneur, speaker, academic, writer and film and television producer.  He is a passionate advocate and supporter of new talent, working with young filmmakers and creatives across the UK and internationally and has produced, or executive produced, more than a dozen feature films from new writers, directors and producers, as well as supporting young graduate companies and start-ups.

Over the last 10 years his work has been focused on developing creative economies in developing and challenged regions – both internationally in Small Island Developing States, and in the UK – in areas of economic and social depression.  He is the founder and chair of Platform Moving Image Cluster in the UK.

​

He was named as part of the Creative England CE50 in 2018, a list of the top 50 leaders and innovators in the digital creative industries and received a Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Contribution Award that same year for his work in founding Platform and supporting the screen sector.

​

Peter is a long-standing member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an active member of the Speakers 4 Schools charity.

​

He is currently working on a book for Routledge entitled Beyond the Blue Economy: Clusters and Creative Economies in Small Island Developing States, due to be published at the end of 2020.  Peter is a Non-Executive Director (Chair) at Artisans of Innovation.
